The challenge
Beachfront Tech Solutions needed Freyja: a complex health application harmonizing menstrual cycle tracking with personalized nutritional planning. That meant generative AI, physical grocery delivery, and Apple’s strictest App Store guidelines for health, privacy, and monetization — all in one product.
The approach
We led end-to-end technical execution on a FlutterFlow frontend with Firebase and Google Cloud Functions behind it. The OpenAI API generates phase-specific recipes from the user’s real-time cycle data — with inputs strictly sanitized so private health data never leaves the boundary it should live in. From there, the official Instacart Developer Platform turns any AI-curated plan into a shoppable, real-world grocery list in a single click.
The heavy lifting runs in custom background jobs — retroactive cycle-phase recalculations, bulk AI meal generation — so nothing ever times out or stutters on the client. And the app doesn’t just track the cycle; it reflects it: palette, logo, and navigation all shift dynamically with the user’s current biological phase.
Getting it approved was its own engineering discipline: age-gating, verifiable medical citations, AI data transparency, Apple/Google Sign-In, and In-App Purchase exemptions — each a documented, compliant solution to a real App Store Review roadblock.
