The challenge

Families in Switzerland had no central place to find trusted childcare — discovery, booking, communication, and commerce were scattered across directories, word of mouth, and messaging apps. Nani-Care needed all of it in one cross-platform product, serving a four-language user base with the trust standards childcare demands.

The approach

We built the full product from concept to deployment in Flutter, with Firebase behind it. Six core verticals — childcare providers, brands, family support professionals, events and camps, a marketplace, and chat groups — each with its own filters, listings, and workflows. Parents search providers by location (Google Maps API), services, availability, and ratings, with AI refining recommendations from user behaviour.

Communication and commerce were built from scratch rather than bolted on: secure real-time chat, custom calendar and booking flows, Stripe-powered tiered subscriptions with coupons and gated premium content, and postal-code-based social groups. Full localization in English, French, German, and Italian covers Switzerland’s user base properly — not as an afterthought.

The outcome

A complete multi-sided marketplace delivered on a fixed-fee, milestone-based contract — full source code and documentation handed over at deployment, a four-month post-launch warranty, and an architecture built for future scale and admin control.
